The Alpine Dash 6 day camping adventure - This exciting full on 6 day trip to the French Italian border in the Western Alps. We aim to be driving some of the most spectacular routes in Europe both on and off road over some of Europe's highest mountain pass's. All vehicles will need to carry enough food, water for 2 days although we will be able to visit a shop it will not be until the Saturday.

Meeting near Calais on the Wednesday morning at 9.00am heading for our first nights stop to the east of Lyon near the Lac du Bourget, On Thursday we head towards the mountians, still traveling on the motorway until we cross the Col'd Galibier, one of the highest paved routes within the Alps going to a hight of 2640 meters, this amazing route although paved is not to be missed, with stunning views for miles. Once over the Pass we continue to Briançon, stopping briefly for lunch next to a river, from Briançon we cross into itally and take our first trail as we look for a camp spot next to the river on the edge of the forest.

Friday will be more of a relaxed drive, taking a track, of nearly 30km long which unfolds almost entirely over 2.000 meters, this famous route has been heralded as one of the most spectaculars unpaved roads in the world. After crossing we continue, heading further up, this time to a height of 2775 meters and to another famous historic fort, built in 1896/89 and used in both world wars. After our visit we head down to look for a suitable camp spot.

Saturday, today we take a tolled route to the highest possible drivable place in Europe, after leaving camp we head into the local town, everyone will be able to fill up with fuel and there is also a small shop for essentials, we then head up only slighlty higher than the fort yesterday but this is an amazing route upto 3000 meters, tolled as it often needs to be repaired, this will take us most of the day to get up and back down, we can then head to a local camp site.

Sunday, after leaving camp we head to Susa and onto yet another amazing route, this route is only open on certain days to 4x4s and in 2019 was very tight due to rock falls, we hope to be able to complete this route having lunch at a suitable location along the way and finish around 2pm, as we need to now to start heading back to Calais stopping overnight at the same campsite east of Lyon before Monday arriving back in Calais around 6pm to say our goodbyes.
