  • Finish Point:- Collioure, France - Mediterranean Sea.
  • Duration:- Total tour 12 days

Maximium Altitude:- 8000ft approx


This Tour is 12 days which includes 1 rest day, we will meet on Sunday night at a campsite on the Atlantic Coast ready to start our trip on the Monday. We will spend 11 days travelling, plus 1 days resting before arriving at the Mediterranean for our final nights stay before the journey home.

Some days will be mostly surfaces roads as we travel through famous Canyons and National Parks,

The Pyrenees Mountains are sometimes regarded as the real last wilderness of western europe. This tour is mainly based on the Spanish side where you will see the rugged beauty of Mountains, valleys, rivers and waterfall along with endless wild flowers like of orchids and gentians. There is also endless wildlife, birds of prey are plentiful with Griffon Vultures and Red Kite seen spiralling on thermals every day. Very rare and almost never seen are also the brown bear.

We finish this trip near the Mediterranean town of Colloiure, the picturesque village is nestled in an authentic environment. Its small Catalan harbor is sheltered by a quiet bay where the chain or the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. An ideal place to rest a few days before the journey home.


Most nights we will spend on a campsite with 1 night being spent at a refuge, camping or rooms are availible.

There is no Wild camping.

Val d'Aran, Montgarri, Massif d'Aigues Tortes, Vall d'Aneu, Massif de Saint Joan de l' Herm, Andorra, Gosol, Gresolet , Sierra del Cadi, La Ripolles, La Garrotxa, Massif Saderne, Pont du Llierca, Collioure.

Vehicle Requirements

This trip is open to any well maintained 4x4 vehicle.

All vehicles must have:-

  • Front and Rear recovery points
  • At least 1 strap and shackle to fit your recovery points.
  • 1 Shovel (preferable full size, not fold up)
  • Full Size Spare Wheel.
  • Minimuim of All Terrain Tyres.
  • European band CB Radio.

Description of Route.

Day 1 - Monday

Today we start by heading through the border town of Irun toward the foot hills and start of an amazing 2 weeks tour exploring the wilderness of the Pyrenees.

Our aim is to reach our campsite around 17.30hrs which is located in the first valley of the western Pyrenees,

Day 2 - Tuesday

Leaving the Campsite we head towards the French border, crossing briefly into France. Once back into Spain we will pass through Irati Forest (the second largest and best preserved beech and fir forest in Europe) and also pass the old Royal Factory of Arms and Munition a magnet for five wars of the period, (1793-1875), suffering the Valley all its disastrous consequences untill its closure in 1884.

Day 3 - Wednesday

Today we travel through the Parque Natural de los Valles Occidentales, it has one of the most beautiful high mountain landscapes in the community of Aragon and also home to some amazing monuments which includes even a stretch of the Roman Cesar Augusta - Beneamum road.

Day 4 - Thursday

Today journey is takes us along one of the most spectacular high mountain roads located in the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, in the Sobrarbe region.

Day 5 - Friday

Yet another spectacular trail, Collado de Sahún is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1,998m above the sea level, located in the province of Huesca, Aragon

Day 6 - Saturday - This bring to the end the first 5 days scouting tour.

Today we leave the camp and drive to Viela then onto the Valley d'Aran towards the town of Esterri before heading of to our campsite near Espot.

Day 7 - Sunday - End of First Leg - Meet of Second Leg.

Today we have a Rest Day in Espot. Located at the gates of the Aigüestortes National Park, Espot is one of the most beautiful towns in the region of Pallars Sobirà

Here you will find an interesting array of leisure activities and possibilities.

Today is also possible for other to join in on the second part of this tour.

Day 8 - Monday

Leaving the campsite we drive up to Espot before following a trail heading to the town of Sort, after leaving Sort we must ensure we get fuel as this will be our last chance before arriving in Andorra. The remainder of the day will be mostly off road firstly driving to the heighest point on this tour, around 7000ft, to the top of a ski resort. We finish the Day at a refuge camping in the forest, at a fantastic location. Three is an option to have a room and food is availible from the Bar, if we arrive early enough we will be able to go out for a short night drive through the mountains.

Day 9 - Tuesday

After leaving the Refuge campsite today will consist of driving some great trails before taking a well known smugglers route into Andorra, maybe stopping for a refreshment at a almost totally deserted village before continuing to our campsite.

Day 10 - Wednesday

Today we leave the campsite and drive out of Andorra using a old smugglers route.This is a full day with some spectacular trails and senery. Once we leave the trails we head to a campsite.

Day 11 - Thursday

This morning we need to pack up and move on as we head further east, its along day today but again another spectactular day.

Day 12 - Friday

This is our last day, as we head down into the foot hills and then arriving at the sea, this is a fantastic view of the Medditerrian with still some good trails and maybe a ford or 2 as we travel through the flat crop areas close to the sea to say our goodbyes.

Whats included in the cost ?

This trip cost is for the guided trip only, it does not include Campsites or any fuel, food or ferry etc all these cost need to be made by the client.
