We will meet on the Sunday night at the campsite near Bossost on the French Spainish Border ready to start our laning trip a Monday morning. We will aim to leave the campsite every morning at 09.30 hrs so a smallish quick pack up tent is essential. We will spend 4 days laning plus 1 rest day in Andorra to finishing on Friday afternoon.
The senery on this trip is amazing, there are "view points" along the way and we travel through many national parks and areas of outstanding beauty. We will be doing around 60-80 miles per day with an aim to be at the campsite around 17.00 hrs.
There is no wild camping on this trip but we do spend 1 night at a holstel that is high in the mountains within a wooded area with only basic toilet and shower facilities with no washing up facilities,
Places of Interest:- Bossost, Col De Varrados, Val D'Aran, Esterri D'Aneu, Espot, Coll d'Exoil, Santa Magdalena, TOR, Andorra
Today we leave the camp and drive through the Ribera deth Salient up to a view point, from here we head on up the Valley and over the Col de Varrados where even in June we have still encounted snow. We then continue though the Valley d'Aran towards the town of Esterri before heading of to our campsite near Espot.
Actual Photos from Day 1
Leaving the campsite we drive up to Espot before following a trail heading to the town of Sort, after leaving Sort we must ensure we get fuel as this will be our last chance before arriving in Andorra. The remainder of the day will be mostly off road firstly driving to the heighest point on this tour, around 7000ft, to the top of a ski resort. We finish the Day at a refuge camping in the forest, at a fantastic location. Three is an option to have a room and food is availible from the Bar, if we arrive early enough we will be able to go out for a short night drive through the mountains.
Actual Photos from Day 2
After leaving the Refuge campsite today will consist of driving some great trails before taking a well known smugglers route into Andorra, maybe stopping for a refreshment at a almost totally deserted village before continuing to our campsite.
Actual Photos from Day 3
Rest Day to visit Andorra. As it says today we spend the day resting, This allows for everyone to visit Andorra and get supplies.
This is our last day, we leave the campsite and drive through Andorra le Vella before climbing and taking another old smugglers route out of Andorra into Spain. Mostly easy forest tracks as we head for the ancient town of Gosol and on to nearby campsite.
Actual Photos from Day 5
This trip is open to any well maintained 4x4 vehicle. Please ensure you have front and rear recovery hooks.
